As part of the Neo rebranding, by our internal design team, we developed multiple illustration styles for different contexts. This illustration style, which we refer to internally as the "painting style" is primarily used for editorial purposes. The motivation for this style was to create something akin to a new yorker magazine cover, to be more expressive and move away from the sterile illustration ui illustration styles that are so common. Consequently much of the inspiration for this illustration style comes from the expressionism art movement.
